Dune Grass Blowing In The Wind by Julian-Bunker Dune Grass Blowing In The Wind by Julian-Bunker
Once again Christmas Cove dose not disappoint. Another wonderful summer sunset at this Northern Michigan beach. Wind was blowing quite quickly over the water, making for an opportunity to incorporate the atmosphere of the location into the photograph. I was truly excited to see this moment unfold, I only hope I am able to translate my experience into the photograph so you can also feel the emotion. Any thoughts, good or bad, are truly something I take to heart, please let me know what you think.

Thank you very much! I have enjoyed your work for a long time man! I would love to visit some of the areas that you have photographed, we should trade places for a week or so haha! Keep up the great work!! we should get into contact and share a few concepts, I think we share a lot in common when it comes to conservation and the importance of our world!

Beautiful composition :) I really like the motion/dynamic mood yet it draws a peaceful atmosphere in equal measure.

Excellent foreground! Love the movement you've captured but still keeping some sharpness! Not sure about the sky though, but that is something you can't change really, unless you have edited it. It seems a bit too saturated for the rest of the image. One thing you could do to change the look of the clouds that are in the sky is to use a ND1000 filter or such, as it will make the exposure very long and the clouds will get a very cool look by the effect. Nevertheless, great image! It shows great technical knowledge!

I hope you appreciate my feedback, and don't take it too seriously if you don't; I'm just a amateur kid. :aww:

Thank you for the feedback, I truly appreciate comments like these, I do agree that the clouds have a bit of an awkward movement about them, this was the battle I was fighting that night, I have exposures of the clouds 'drawn out' more, but the dune grass would catch too much wind in that time and loose the feel I wanted them to have, We must make mistakes though, if we do not, then we will never learn anything new! Thank you for the feedback, it truly is helpful!

No problems! :)
Did you use a tripod? In that case you can blend the two images together to get the best out of the two pictures!
It is known as exposure blending and is absolutely not cheating! :p It is easy once you find your way around layer masks if you have photoshop. :)

So often the foreground in such shots is water, the movement in the grass in this really is awesome, of course with less movement in it the closer to the ground it gets, stunning colors and perfectly composed. You should be a translator, if this is how you go about it :) Stunning!
